About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Healthcare Industry Small Business Underwriter with Healthcare fields and or commercial underwriting experience.  A successful candidate will have experience in supporting start-ups, acquisitions,  refinance, and expansion of health care industries group (Dental, Veterinary, Optometry, and Medical practices). This Healthcare Industry Small Business Underwriter will be part of Consumer & Small Business Banking providing coverage for Branch Banking, Chief Customer Office, CSBB Control, CSBB Diverse Customer Segments, CSBB Operations, CSBB Strategy & Transformation, Consumer Marketing, Deposit Products Group, and Small Business. In this role, you will:
  • Analyze complex financial and credit information for healthcare practice loan packages according to business unit standards.
  • Underwrite based upon approved credit authority limits in a production environment.
  • Identify opportunities for decisions and scoring system improvements
  • Compile, analyze, and document loan data and credit risk, borrower and property information and coordinates activity in support of credit approval process
  • Review consumer requests related to decisions, products and process
  • Investigate credit standards and determines credit worthiness of high net worth loans, understands financial statements and reports for specific area of business.
  • Gather information to make appropriate decisions
  • Ensure products meet company and industry guidelines
  • Utilize your proficient excel skills
  • Present recommendations for resolving consumer requests and program risks and exercise independent judgment while developing expertise in the programs, collateral, small business requirements and risk
  • May negotiate loan provisions (Structure the loan request based on the product and project as applicable)
  • Works with clients directly for loan structuring and underwriting queries
  • Collaborate and consult with managers, internal and external business partners and more experienced underwriters
  • Partner with Sales, Bankers and Operational Teams
  • Required Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of commercial credit experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare underwriting
  • Experience analyzing business or personal financial statements  and tax returns
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge and understanding of Customer Contact Management (CCM)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
  • Knowledge of Sales Force, Blast, AFS,  Aspire and or nCino
  • Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
