Please Note: Work location for this role is FLEXIBLE! This position allows 100% remote work from home or allows work to be performed in any of our major office locations with a hybrid schedule .

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to the base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities based on each role to reward achievement of annual performance objectives. Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $56,580 to $84,860.

Profile Summary:

Appropriately assess the individual risk presented by applicants (employees and their dependents) applying for life coverage above the eligible amount within the case group underwriting offer and as established by senior Employee Benefits Executives

Profile Description:

• Evaluate an individual's medical history, physical condition, MIB and other pertinent information to determine if the level of risk is acceptable based on the Group Life underwriting rules by reviewing all underwriting forms and applicable eligibility provisions. Process business supporting Reinsurance Treaty parameters. Make final risk decision with concurrence/approval from appropriate parties.
• Determines type of information necessary to fulfill underwriting requirements.
• Continue building knowledge of products and group underwriting offers.
• Continue building knowledge of online workflow process.
• Provide training, guidance to less experienced underwriters and act as a knowledgeable resource. Serve as a subject matter expert as needed.
• Lead and/or participate in department and/or company projects and special initiatives, as needed. This requires standard project skills and critical decision-making abilities.
• Continue professional development activities and coursework

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 4+ years medical underwriting experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• ALU and LOMA coursework preferred
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Technical skills - Adaptable to technology workflow processing in a work from home environment, SharePoint, MS Excel, MS Word
